Area Never Opened...or did it?

Thanks to John and Linda Osgood, we first learned of this ski area that was planned but likely never truly opened. Here's what they found about it:

John and Linda Osgood--
Built shortly after the country club of the same name was opened, this mountain was cleared for a chair lift and 4 trails on about 400 vertical feet. An advertisement in Ski Area Management by Borvig Lifts claimed that a fixed grip quad was installed there in 1986. The next year in the same publication, Borvig claimed a triple chair had been installed there. Neither was true and the hill never opened.

Andy Dufresne found it too...
I found it without any problem!  It is located 1/2 mile off route 108 on Boston Post Rd. I brought my camera along and took a picture of where the lift line and one of the trails was going to be. The club house to Bakersfield Country Club looks like it would have doubled as a base lodge in the winter time.  It appears that had this area opened, it would have been geared towards families.  Believe it or not, it was about 62 degrees, and there were some die hard golfers on the course (pretty good for Nov 22).  I took  a quick look around and didn't see any visible source of water that the area could have used for snow making.

Here's the Terraserver image of the area, found by Betsy McDonough. Notice the liftline and two moderately wide trails. The golf course is at the bottom of the picture.

Wolf Run in Bakersfield, VT taken in Nov. 1999. You can see that the lift line is cut (running straight up the middle of the photo) and it looks like a trail is cut to the right of the line. Both have grown in quite a deal. The trail looks quite wide, as were most new trails in the late 1980's.

While the area likely never did open, one interesting listing was found. Thanks to the VT Tramway Commission, I have learned that a 300' pony lift was inspected here for 1989/1990. It may have operated, maybe not, who knows?

Does anybody else know any more details?
