Hinesburg Ski Association
Hinesburg, VT
Mid 1960's-Around 1972

Not much is known about this lost area in Hinesburg. According to the VT Tramway Reports, the area had a 400' rope tow, and operated from sometime in the 1960's-around 1972.

According to J. Wilson at the Hinesburg Town Hall,  the rope tow was run by a 1948 or 1949 car engine and was located on land owned by five families.  The ski area was used by these families and their neighbors. The area is located on a private road off Mechanicville Road.  This area is on private property, so please do not trespass.

Here is an aerial of the Hinesburg Ski Association Ski Tow. The tow was located behind the houses in the northern part of the photo.  Image from  www.terraserver-usa.com.

D. Boulanger has a bit more info to add: The rope tow that existed in Hinesburg VT might well have been on a private road owned by Dave Wade, near the Mechanicsville section of town, not far from the cemetery.
