Originally we thought this area might be lost, but its actually still in operation. Dave Bouchard sends in the following information telling NELSAP how the area operates:
A quick note
that the Williston/Chapman ski hill in Northern VT is not a lost ski
area. It is still in operation. As a matter of fact I was helping with
the counter weight system on the rope tow this past Sat. I have skied
their quite a bit over the past few years. There is a limit of 25 family
members that can sign up according to the charter. There is a great mix
of old and young blood making this private operation remain operable. Thanks to Andy Dufresne, we have a photo of this area. You can see the rope tow on the far right and a base building. |
