For this one I'll let the 1939 book explain. Anybody remember this one?
1939
(Ski
Trails in the East and How to Find Them)
The area has 3 short
trails and a 20 meter ski jump. An excellent open slope, with a 1400 foot
ski tow, is suitable for novice, intermediate, or expert skiers. The slopes
and ski tow are accessible by motor car by proceeding 10 miles west on
US 25. There are rest rooms and first aid stations in the vicinity of the
trails. A local ski carnival is held the second week of March.
