Built, but never
operated
Hiawatha Ski Area is another mystery. Several trails were built, but the area never operated.
Betsy McDonough found this ski area on a map. We then checked it out in the spring of 2000, but found it very hard to get to. Thankfully, another NELSAP reader, "A.D.", found this area and took some great pics:

Interestingly enough, the area was indicated on a topographic map of the area! Vertical looks close to 150ft. |
